Article Submission: two ways to do!

Monday, March 29th, 2010

Everyone knows that submitting well-written, keyword-rich articles to article repository sites on the Internet is the best way to build links to your web sites in Google and other search engines.

But very few people realize there’s a wrong way to do this. And doing it wrong is worse than not doing it at all.

Most people who are new to using articles as part of their marketing strategies get off to a bad start because they don’t understand the delicate strategy involved with precisely placing articles in the article sites best suited for a particular subject.

You see, not all article repositories are the same. Some get high traffic for all subjects. Some get highly-targeted traffic across one or two very specific niches. And some don’t get any traffic at all. Those sites fall under the definition of “bad neighborhoods” according to Google.

Not understanding the differences among article repositories is where the trouble starts for the inexperienced marketer. These days, it’s too easy to sign up for those “article blasting” services that SPAM article repositories with thousands of worthless ads; the ads that have been written by who knows who and are often filled with spelling and grammar errors. As these types of articles build up in the lower-quality sites, and they build up very quickly thanks to the thousands of people using these “blasting” services, the site begins to develop a bad reputation. Soon, the search engines start dropping the links like hot potatoes.

How do savvy professional marketers get around this ranking trap?

They depend on the services offered by professional article placement agencies. These agencies specialize in submitting articles manually to hand-picked sites that will return the best search engine ranking results. The people behind these professional services understand how the article placement game is really played. They know that success is all about quality and has nothing to do with quantity. After all, what good is having your articles listed on hundreds of sites if those sites are banned by Google and other search engines? It hurts your business!

When you use a professional article placement agency to manually submit your articles, you don’t have to worry about ending up in bad neighborhoods and getting your search engine rankings mugged in the process. Instead you’ll get the quality links you are looking for. Your articles will only appear on those sites catering to your category; sites that are visited by both live humans and search engine spiders on a regular basis. This kind of strategy is what pays off in the long run.

Don’t sabotage your article marketing strategy just because you choose to believe the hype those “blast your way to success” hucksters throw out every day. Remember how productive FFA sites used to be and how useless they are now? FFA “blasters” ruined that marketing opportunity, and the article blasters will ruin this marketing opportunity if you let them.

Get better results by letting the professionals manually place your articles in the appropriate repository sites. Remember, if it’s worth doing, it’s worth doing right.

If you’re like most small business websites on the internet today, you use link exchanges to market your website. But sometimes finding websites to exchange links with can be a time consuming task. Here are a few proven methods for finding websites to exchange links with.

1: Search Engines Queries

Using Google or Yahoo, perform the following searches, replacing “keyword” with a keyword related to your site.

Keyword add url
keyword add site
keyword add link
keyword submit url
keyword submit site
keyword submit link
keyword link exchange
keyword link swap
keyword reciprocal link
keyword related sites
keyword links directory

2: Find out who’s linking to your competitor’s.

If you can find out who is linking to your competitors, you can try to acquire a link to your site ob each site that already links to your competitors. Just search for link:http://www.competitors-url-here.com

3: Other link directories

Find sites that relate to your site that have link exchange directories. Visit each site in their link directories and attempt to exchange links with each site.

4: Link exchange tools

There are several excellent websites that match webmasters with related sites that are interested in exchanging links. Two of the best are Linkalizer and SiteSell’s Value Exchange. In general, you’ll want to stay away from sites that completely automate the link exchange process. I have used some of them, but the search engines do not like these sites, and may penalize your site if you use them.

5: Software

There is also software available that searches for and automatically emails sites to see if they will link exchange with you. I have used and like LinkAssistant. If you decide to use this method, ensure that you comply with all spam laws and the search engine’s guidelines.

All 5 of these methods are proven, dependable ways to find link exchange partners. Use them and start gaining more free links to your website today!

10-step Guide to Get Links to Your New Website

Sunday, March 14th, 2010

If you are the webmaster of a newly launched website, or if your website lacks the popularity it deserves, you should have a look at the following 10-step guide, which will show you how to get valuable links and improve your traffic levels and overall site popularity:

1. Use the full power of automated link management websites and directories. This is the easiest and most effective way of getting links to your website. Some great resources to start linking to other websites, go to:

o http://www.MyLinkMachine.com
o http://www.LinkManager.com

2. Place a link or invitation for potential link partners. There are many webmasters who visit related websites and some of them might want to link to you. Make sure to offer them an easy and quick solution to initiate the link exchange.

3. Use high authority websites like Wikipedia to generate traffic and increase your website popularity. Remember that quality is king on such websites, so don’t try to spam them or find quick solutions. Become part of the community and your links will be more than welcome.

4. Become a part of the blogging craze. Create your own blog (you can do that for free with services like Blogger or Word Press) and start posting on other blogs. Try to include a link to your website where the context allows it. Blog posting is effective and has the potential to send hundreds of visitors each week with only a few well written comments and some subtle links.

5. Join a few forums related to the topic of your website and become an active member. Try to create the exact same user name and password for more forums, so that you can manage your posts and memberships better. Some forums don’t allow you to place links in your messages ? unless they are really valuable forums try to avoid them as they will bring little benefit.

6. Post on groups and other online communities.

7. Use social bookmarking websites such as digg.com or furl.com to generate interest in your website. The more interesting the content of your pages is, the more credit you will get from the people who determine the placement of your links.

8. Yahoo Answers is another interesting source of traffic and links. Make sure to become a real contributor to the program, not just someone who places a link without any real content.

9. Offer something of value for free to your visitors or newsletter subscribers. This will generate a viral effect in which visitors tell their friends about your website. This will lead to increased traffic, plus it will let more webmasters know that you exist, increasing the chances of a link exchange.

10. Use the full power of article submissions. This is another viral marketing tool that has the potential of generating more and more incoming links towards your website as the articles you submitted get republished on blogs and websites. You may want to register with some ezines and directories to submit your article for inclusion, such as:

o http://www.MyContentBuilder.com

Article submission can be tedious, which is why you may want to consider an automatic article submitter. It will submit one article to over 30 directories in half an hour. To watch a video on how to accomplish this, go to:

The Very Useful Dr.Web

Saturday, March 13th, 2010

Computer viruses are a menace. Ever since I’ve had my first computer, I’ve been dealing with virus infections and this was a time before hard disks were even invented. Some of these viruses were benign in nature while some where destructive. In all those years, I’ve tried all sorts of virus protection programs and cleaners but all of them failed at some point. I consider Avira as one of the best antivirus programs I’ve ever used and it’s also free but recently, I encountered one particular virus that was truly destructive and even my antivirus software was unable to clean it.

It all started with a flash drive that I allowed to be inserted into my computer. The moment the flash drive was installed in my system, the virus started to replicate and infect a lot of my files. It spread so fast that my antivirus software was unable to keep up. Needless to say, I had a very sick computer when it was finished. The last time this happened to me, I was forced to reformat and accept the fact that a lot of my files were lost forever. I was about to resort to this when I stumbled upon Dr.Web LiveCD. This software does it all as far as cleaning infected computers is concerned. It is so effective because it loads its own operating system with the CD provided without loading anything from the hard disk. This means that nothing will be running from the drive once Dr.Web starts cleaning. It took a whole night for the software to clean my computer but when I woke up, I had a very clean and virus-free computer.

Dr.Web is a very good product and it is also free. I highly suggest downloading the latest version of its LiveCD and burning it to a CD even if you don’t need it at the moment. Once the time comes and your computer gets infected by a similar virus, you will be glad you burned yourself a copy of the software.
