If your website doesn&#8217;t have a good position in the rankings then no-one will find it, so you need to make sure that your website is ranked highly enough to be seen. The other important quality to getting high traffic to your site is having a nice arsenal of links. The more links that you have to your site the more traffic you will get, but also, the more links to your site the more search engines like your site. Keeping a nice supply of links pointing at your site requires similar precautions and practices as getting high search engine listings.</p>
<p>Although no SEO company can guarantee a high ranking for your site, here are some tips for raising your search engine ranking. Using these tips will not get you to the top unless your site is the best out there, but they will at least put you into the positioning that you truly deserve. After all, the internet is basically a free market. You will naturally flow into the place that you deserve and many search engines try to insure that you do not rise above or fall below this position. This is why they are so strict, and this is why you must keep yourself on good terms with them.</p>
<p>1) Content is an important factor in high search engine rankings. Make sure that you have plenty of content throughout your site with your target keywords in the articles. It&#8217;s also worth doing a search for websites similar to yours and taking a look at their articles for ideas. The more content you have the better. It is generally a good idea to have between three hundred and five hundred words per page, but more important than a quantity of content is the quality of the content that you are providing. You cannot just put out three hundred words of jargon and expect your visitors to find it interesting and stick around for the long haul.</p>
<p>2) Your website&#8217;s URL can help you rank higher with the search engines if it contains your keywords. However, don&#8217;t think that naming your site after your keywords will always help your rankings ? you need to do more than just that.</p>

If a visitor is looking for something that you are linking to and he or she finds your page, they may look around your site on the way through.</p>
<p>4) The title of your page is very important, and making sure that you choose it wisely will make a big difference. Terms such &#8216;free article on safe children&#8217;s toys&#8217;, or &#8216;contact the children&#8217;s toy expert today&#8217; are good to use as titles, for example ? they would get you a high ranking. The title area is the most important place to include your keyword phrases, so make sure that you put them all in.</p>
<p>5) The navigation menu that appears on each page of your website should include your page&#8217;s title.</p>
<p>6) Don&#8217;t just use the most popular keyword phrases ? the market is so competitive that you should be sure to include some niche keywords too.</p>
<p>7) Make sure that you don&#8217;t have a lot of irrelevant links on your site. The more closely related to your site your links are, the better your chances of being ranked in a higher position.</p>

<p>One of the great advantages of search engine for your internet business, it can bring you a large amount of targeted traffic to your website. Some of them will not cost you a cent, but some of them will cost you a dollar. It is depend on what search engine do you use.</p>
<p>Search engine will become very powerful for your business if you can put your website in the top 50, but it will be useless if your website listed further down. Because people will not see the result more than 50 result.</p>

<p>Directory sometimes called a category database. This directory will list all website inside category. This kind of search engine will edited by human, it means there are some directory admin will check your submission to this directory. They may accept or reject your website if they feel your website is not appropriate to the category that directory has.</p>
<p>When you submit your website to directory, you just need to enter your title, description and keywords. Some of directories will not ask you to enter keywords. You also need to select category you want it. The example of directory is yahoo.</p>
<p>Crawler search engine also known as spider or robots. This search engine use small software that will jump between websites called as crawler. This crawler will look for new website 24 hour a day, 7 days a week.</p>
<p>For crawler search engine, you do not need to submit your title, description and keywords. This crawler will index your website automatically. You just need to submit your URL and crawler will come to your site and index every thing they need.</p>
<p>PPC search engine stand for pay per click search engine. This kind of search engine will ask you to pay them to use it. Mostly, they will cost you minimum 1 cent until 5 cent. However PPC search engine will list your website depend on how much you want to pay them in particular keywords. If you want to pay them more than other competitor that use the same keywords, you will be listed on the top.</p>
<p>Before you use PPC search engine, you need to add some deposit. Then your deposit will decrease when someone click on your link.</p>
<p>Meta search engine is search engine that collect result from multiply search engine simultaneously. You don&#8217;t need to submit to Meta search engine since they use result of the major search engine.</p>
<p>Meta search engine will rank your website by calculated combination of ranking of all search engines that they use. So the key to have high rank in Meta search engine, you need to ensure that your website listed in all crawler search engine.</p>

It&#8217;s the large number of sites covering a large range of topics that has caused hundreds of millions of people to go online.</p>
<p>Web presence is not a zero sum game. That&#8217;s a term that economist use to describe a situation where one person making a gain means that someone else is making a loss. Instead, the more people who play the Internet game, that surf and interact online, , the more audience and money there is to go around. Because of this, other sites aren&#8217;t the enemy. Other sites are your friend.</p>
<p>Here in Toronto, there is a district that seems to be saturated with computer stores. You can get computer parts at great prices. There is intense competition, as the different stores compete on price, on the latest technology, on selection and quality. If you think about it, these shops are all cooperating. Even if the owners of the shop never speak to each other, even if they despise one another, they make the district the place to go for computer parts. And by offering such a huge selection overall, they make sure that anyone looking for a part is sure to find it there ? no matter how obscure.  In contrast, the shopper at an unattached computer store may not find the desired part.</p>
<p>The stores are in competition, but competition and cooperation are not mutually exclusive. If you start an online site offering currency trading education and three other sites do the same, you are in competition with them. However your real competition is the similar educational tools in brick &amp; mortar bookstores. If people start thinking that the web is the best place of tried and true trading strategies, then it helps you all.</p>
<p>All that is passive cooperation. It doesn&#8217;t require anyone to directly make plans with anyone else. Most of the active cooperation you are likely to be involved in will be with sites that are not offering exactly the same products and services that you are. Instead, you should try cooperating with sites that share the same audience but different products. A site that offers Country music may cooperate with a site that sells Cowboys hats.</p>
<p>The overall point is that there is a large ocean of potential clients out there, and when you cooperate with others trying to fish in this ocean, you increase your chances of success. Better to have 1% of a billion dollar market than 100% of a million dollar market.</p>
<p>Think about working together with others online ? learn from people who are doing what you want to do. The internet market is still growing ? in both the number of users, but even the current users&#8217; willingness to engage in commerce online. Be a part of it ? even if it&#8217;s a small part, the rewards will blow your mind.</p>

<p>Amid all the noise and hype on the Internet today, not many people realize that all the ideas and techniques you can find are petty much useless if you don&#8217;t first understand your business model. In other words, even the most amazing Internet marketing technique will not work if you don&#8217;t understand how to apply it to YOUR business.</p>
<p>The 3 most popular business models are:</p>
<p>1) Affiliate Marketing</p>
<p>This is perhaps the most popular one out there, since there are absolutely no barriers to entry. Almost anyone can sign-up for an affiliate program for free and start promoting the product or service on the Internet with hopes that someone will buy, giving them instant commissions. Affiliate marketers don&#8217;t carry any risk, since they do not pay for the creation of the product, they do not handle customer service and they do not need any up-front investments.</p>
<p>When you consider that those are the top three things people want to avoid, it&#8217;s no surprise that almost everyone and their neighbor promotes an affiliate program or another. In fact, if there is a single reason why the Internet today is so proliferated with ads and banners, it&#8217;s because of affiliate programs.</p>
<p>Even though there are so many affiliate marketers out there, only 5% ever make any money and only 1% makes big money. The &#8220;Super Affiliates&#8221; do it very differently from all the other millions; therefore they earn the big checks.</p>
<p>2) E-book and Information Publishing</p>
<p>Sitting at the other end of the spectrum, e-book authors need to be more disciplined in their approach to Internet marketing.  Of course, they also need to invest more than affiliates do. While affiliates can get away trying to &#8220;get something for nothing&#8221; the same is not true for the e-book type of business.</p>
<p>If you&#8217;re thinking about publishing and selling your own e-book online, and you think it&#8217;s going to be easy, think again. You&#8217;ll need to learn a lot more than affiliates are required to. You&#8217;ll need to spend some amount of money getting your business up and running. However, when you do it right, the payoff in this online business model is much more rewarding.</p>
<p>The reason why e-book marketers and &#8220;Infopreneurs&#8221; make more money is simple; they have very, very low production and maintenance costs. Anything digital doesn&#8217;t cost a single cent to be produced in millions if necessary. <p>They try to make the Internet do all the work. They hide behind their computers and pretend everything&#8217;s going great. They focus on selling more and more every month. They have systems that are so complicated only they can understand it. Well, that doesn&#8217;t sound like network marketing to me!</p>
<p>Internet based network marketing is simple if you understand it, and are willing to put in the effort. The role of the Internet here is only to get you the names and contact details of people you can talk to, after which YOU, not a computer, has to build a relationship with these people and help them to start their own business.</p>
<p>For this simple purpose, it is not necessary for you to have a high-tech system and pretend that your auto responder is building relationships for you. It&#8217;s not going to work. <p>Web Success Secret #2) Without Traffic- What&#8217;s the Point?</p>
<p>Part 1 of this series really got down and dirty about content.  Content&#8217;s main focus is twofold- make your visitors happy and make search engines happy.  This article is all about making you happy!  Think of this as your starter guide to increasing traffic and building a profitable business.</p>
<p>Traffic can be summed up in 2 words- free and paid.  I consider all PPC (pay-per-click), ezine advertising, offline advertising, and paid directory submissions a form of paying for your traffic.  I also consider any project that takes up your time to be paid advertising.  After all in the business world time is money.  Paid advertising is not bad.  It just means that you are paying to receive traffic.</p>
<p>Free traffic is harder to attract, but it costs you absolutely no money.  Almost all free traffic is the result of surfers finding your site on the search engines.  We talked about using content as your ultimate search engine ranking booster in the last article.</p>
<p>Here are several ways to increase traffic.  Some are paid advertising options and others are totally free.</p>
<p>- Write articles and submit them to several niche websites.  Manually submitting articles to many websites can take a long time.  I use a submission service to do all my hard work.  Contact me for more info.</p>
<p>- Post in forums.  Many forums will not allow you to market your product or services.  That&#8217;s totally understandable.  What I recommend doing is finding a really great forum that you can participant in.  When people have questions, provide top notch and comprehensive answers.  No selling.  Almost all forums allow you to post your website in your sig file.  Take advantage of that.</p>
<p>- Submit each page of your website to all major search engines.  Also submit each page to all major search engines whenever you make a change on that page.  Be careful with this one.  Each engine has very specific directions and rules about submission rules.  Be sure you do not spam!  Submit pages according to each engine&#8217;s guidelines.  I also use a submission service that does this for me at no additional cost.</p>
<p>- Create joint ventures with non-competing websites.  Work with a company that compliments your product or service.  Also be sure the joint venture is a win-win-win for you, the other company and your customers.  Joint ventures can be a pain to set up and complete, but well worth it if done correctly.</p>
<p>- Look into ezine advertising, web advertising and/or PPC.  Each method takes an initial investment and some time to learn, but can bring back traffic.  Personally I do not prefer this method to increase traffic because it&#8217;s &#8220;iffy&#8221; at best.</p>
<p>- Print your website name on all business correspondences.  This is a simple task, but one that is simple to do.  Add it to your email sig line, forum sig lines, letterhead and business cards.</p>
<p>- Create an atmosphere of amazing customer service.  This always leads to referrals from current clients.  The more referrals the more traffic!</p>
<p>The bottom line is without traffic your site is floating in a sea of doom.  No one is seeing your content or services.  Traffic is the lifeline of any business, and the rule of thumb is more traffic means more income.</p>
<p>This brings me to my last and final point about traffic.  Once you develop a nice flow of visitors you need to know specifics.  Where did those visitors come from?  How did they find you?  What pages are the most popular on your site?  What page did they enter into your site?  What page did they leave your site?  What keywords did they use to find you?  You must know your visitor inside and out!</p>
<p>As I mentioned earlier, it is best to work smarter and not harder.  Traffic analysis and search engine submissions can be very time consuming, but your hosting company should be providing most of these services to you free of charge. <p>You may be a bit surprised to learn that monetization is the last of the 4 steps.  Many business owners position monetization as their first goal. <p>When I first learned of the four step approach to making successful web businesses, I was a bit skeptical.  I have never heard of such a risky business idea- think of making money as the last goal.  That sounded absurd to me! One of those things is how you start and run a long term and profitable business.</p>

There is no real central authority that is in charge and many scam artists take full advantage of this. Especially as a small business owner with no large company name behind yours, building credibility in the prospect&#8217;s mind becomes crucial.</p>
<p>Here are seven ways to build your online credibility.</p>
<p>1. You may find it beneficial to place your picture (even a smugshot) on your website.</p>
<p>Brick and mortar stores have the advantage since the clerk has a direct face-to-face conversation with the customer. It is therefore easier to &#8216;connect&#8217; and form a relationship.</p>
<p>I recently read an interesting thread on a marketing forum message board with several people giving their opinions on the pros and cons of placing your picture on your site. Most of the fears expressed were that people might be turned off by the owner&#8217;s ethnicity. Even though this is a real fear I think that the best reaction I read on this point came from an Italian-American small business owner. She said that she would not want to do business with someone who was prejudiced against her anyway ? I thought to myself ? &#8220;Problem solved!&#8221;</p>
<p>Your photo helps your visitor to reach across the great chasm of the Internet and touch your customer -? right from their monitors. Why do you think cellular phone customers are trading in their &#8216;old phones&#8217; for the new &#8216;talk-to-me-and-see-me-at-the-same-time&#8217; models?</p>
<p>2. Provide an audio message in your own voice.</p>

<p>Your address also adds a sense of structure to the very fluid environment of the Internet. It is much like the sign on a brick and mortar store ? this is where I&#8217;m located. That is why just a post office box number would not suffice.</p>
<p>Can you be reached by fax, landline phone, email, and mobile phone? This information adds to your credibility, not to mention your perceived availability.</p>
<p>4. Do not use a free email or hosting service as your main site.</p>
<p>Tied closely to credibility are the perceptions that you create of your business. Some say that in business image is everything. That may be taking it a little too far but you are NOT who you think you are but what the customer perceives you to be!</p>
<p>If you use a free email service such as hotmail.com what does this say about you? You are so successful but you cannot even afford a paid email service? Most spammers use these free email accounts anyway ? that&#8217;s another count against you. It may be best to use the account associated with your paid website&#8217;s domain. I think that almost all web hosting services provide POP email accounts.</p>
<p>5. Have an &#8216;About&#8217; page.</p>
<p>When a surfer appears at your site for the first time it is like going on a blind date. The visitor may have heard a little about you and know where to find you but she is practically just window-shopping. The &#8216;About&#8217; page gives her a good chance to get a quick background check on you. She can then know if you are the one she really wants to build a relationship with.</p>
<p>Information you should place on this page includes:<br />
- a personal and professional biography,<br />
- maybe a photograph of yourself,<br />
- name, address and telephone number,<br />
- your company objectives,<br />
- a comprehensive description of you and your company.</p>
<p>Just knowing this &#8216;outline&#8217; of who you are places the visitor at ease and most of the nervous jitter hopefully disappears. Why? She sees you are not afraid to be checked out.</p>
<p>6. Include a &#8216;Privacy Statement&#8217;.</p>
<p>Internet users are becoming more and more sensitive to how their personal information is being used. This makes it almost imperative for you to provide a page with your privacy policy.</p>
<p>General concerns that would have to be addressed are:<br />
*How you use the information that is collected.<br />
*Is the information shared with a third party?<br />
*Let them know how they can opt out of any mailing list they sign up for.<br />
*Why you track their IP address.</p>

<p>7. Use your customers&#8217; unsolicited testimonials and product reviews.</p>
<p>What you say about your product or service is not really taken seriously. I mean what are you expected to say anyway? It&#8217;s your product &#8230; duh. What carry the greater weight are the opinions of other experts in your field. But what carries the greatest weight is what the customers themselves say.</p>
<p>This means that you can get instant credibility if you present the unsolicited testimonials of your satisfied customers. These testimonials should be accompanied with the email address or website and full name of the customer. The less information you give about the customer who is providing the testimonial the less believable it is. I have had visitors who actually contacted these customers to confirm that the testimonials were real.</p>
<p>So pour on the testimonials ? too much is not enough.</p>
<p>There you had it. Use all these strategies to help build your credibility online and see more customers willing to open their wallets and their hearts.</p>

Everyone keep telling them that they need a nice looking website, throw some affiliate programs on it, advertise at free classifieds pages, and watch the money roll in. Easy money, right? That&#8217;s what they think.</p>
<p>&#8220;I don&#8217;t need anyone to show me how to do this. It shouldn&#8217;t be hard at all. Actually, it should be a walk in the park.&#8221; Many people probably think like that. So they advertise here and there. Free classifieds. Free advertising. Maybe some forum posting every day. Free traffic, right?</p>
<p>A few days go by. Then a few weeks go by and they only made about $30 in sales in one month. Many continue to do this and think that if they keep doing the same thing, maybe a miracle will happen.</p>
<p>Not so&#8230;&#8230;</p>
<p>It so very true that the online work at home arena is highly competitive. If you are doing the same thing and keep getting the same results over and over again, not only are you killing your potential for online success, but you are allowing other competitors to pass you by. The only thing that you need to do is to stop and find someone who is already succeeding with their online business. Become like an investigator. Investigate what they do EXACTLY on a daily basis that created that wealth for them.</p>
<p>Here are a few good pointers on what you can do to succeed online:</p>
<p>1) Start Getting Educated&#8230;&#8230;</p>
<p>Again, find someone who is very successful online and see what they are doing on a daily basis that creates their success. Do some detailed research online as to what methods and techniques are working for them and others. You can not succeed if you keep associating yourself with people who aren&#8217;t successful online. So you need to take yourself by the hands and start to associate with successful online friends.</p>
<p>2) You need an Auto-responder&#8230;..</p>
<p>Before I go into explaining this subject, it is important that you know that you will want to work with an opt in email subscribers who will come to your site and give you their personal permission to send them periodic emails. What you will not want to do is to buy email subscribers. If you do buy them and send them your emails, then this can kill you and your online reputation.</p>
<p>Having and opt-in email list will allow you to free up lots of your time because your prospects will be receiving messages from you periodically and automatically. The nice thing about email marketing is that instead of you having to call them each time you want to promote something, which will take you forever, your auto-responder system will be working for you while you go out and have fun.</p>
<p>Imagine having an opt in list of 10,000 subscribers. If you were to call each one of them to promote one of your programs, think how long it will take you to reach all of them. It would be impossible for you. With email, you can contact them all in a matter of a few seconds or minutes. You write one email and hit the &#8220;submit&#8221; button, and you are all done.</p>
<p>&#8220;If I don&#8217;t get an auto-responder and email subscribers, will this cut my chances of succeeding online?&#8221;</p>
<p>I am not saying that it will, but if you do get one, your income will just keep growing all the time as your subscribers do.<br />
3) Find a mentor</p>
<p>After you find someone who is very successful online, email them and tell them that you will want to work with them one on one if it is possible. Don&#8217;t try going into their training thinking that you know it all. Listen and follow each guideline that they are recommending to you.</p>
<p>This person will be your mentor. Your coach and most of all, your friend.</p>
<p>By stepping out and trying a proven way to make money online, you will begin to see that you too can make a nice income online. And the best advice that I can also give you is to never ever give up. A lot of people are making nice incomes online and so can you. Believe in yourself and you will succeed.</p>
